UPDATE: 2026 broke the record at 1,818! WOO-HOO!!!!
With Scribner Fire & Rescue’s Fish Fry coming up THIS Friday (3/27/26), let’s take a walk down memory lane…
Fish Fry attendance since 2019…
2019: 1,100
2021: 1,435
2022: 1,500
2023: 1,520
2024: 1,543
2025: 1,714
2026: 1,818
2025 marked the biggest Fish Fry in Scribner history. The line wrapped around the fire department, out the door, past the post office and across Howard Street all the way to the bell tower.
WOW! That means the last Fish Fry, our population doubled!!!! Absolutely INSANE!
This year they’re super DOOPER prepared!
Wanna guess how many pounds of fish they have????
…Well, I shall tell you: 1,000lbs of fish will be fried up and served this Friday (don’t forget the beans and coleslaw). They’ll keep battering, frying and serving meals until all the fish is gone!
Last year, a meal was served every 8.5 seconds! Math is fun.
SO THIS FRIDAY, we’re looking at great weather: SUNNY with a high in the 50s…
ALSO, this year we will have a production crew arriving, as they will begin filming Scribner’s commercial throughout 2026. The Fish Fry will be the first event they’ll be covering. So even more of a reason to show up to this year’s Fish Fry, become a movie star!
