Three years ago, Pebble Creek Vintage Thrift opened its doors with nothing but caffeine, donated goods, and a dream to give back.
Since then, this humble thrift store in Scribner has grown into something much bigger—not just a place for great bargains and stylish finds, but a true community hub, a lifeline for local families and a powerful source of support for projects that help our town shine.
Thanks to dedicated volunteers, generous donations, and every person who’s ever shopped their aisles, the store has raised more than $60,000 to support local efforts—including:
- Renovations at the Mohr Auditorium
- The iconic “Scribner Hollywood” sign
- Park and ballfield improvements
- Loungers at the city pool
But Pebble Creek’s impact goes far beyond that. They’ve quietly stepped up for families facing house fires, illness or hard times—opening after hours so those in need could find comfort and essentials.
They’ve provided teddy bears to Scribner Rescue for children in emergency situations, partnered with Scribner-Snyder Community Schools to teach students valuable life skills, and donated clothing to six regional organizations, including The Bridge in Fremont, Children’s Hospital in Omaha, and others serving domestic violence survivors and families in crisis.
Their participation in the Nebraska Passport Program also brought hundreds of visitors to Scribner, helping showcase our town’s charm and unique spirit.
From their first home in the former tractor dealership to their new space in the beautifully restored old Scribner City Office building downtown, Pebble Creek has remained committed to a single mission: love this town and lift up the people in it.
Come celebrate with them on Saturday, May 24, from 10am–3pm
Enjoy cookies, punch, storewide sales—and help us show our gratitude for everything this little store has done for Scribner.
They’re more than a thrift store—they’re a piece of our town’s heart. And they’re just getting started.
